Position Summary


The Print Media Manager is responsible for coordinating all print production, maintaining all print equipment, and communicating with all print & equipment vendors.

Essential Functions

  • Establish and regularly monitor print media annual budget. Closely monitor material costs, outside services, capital expenses, etc.
  • Vet and establish relationships with multiple outside vendors. Negotiate favorable product costs, service rates, and maintenance/service contracts. (Paper suppliers, wide format supply companies, etc)
  • Maintain and order large inventory of paper stocks, wide format substrates, inks, toners & supplies as needed
  • Reconcile all department invoices from outside vendors and provide approvals to Finance Dept for payment. Communicate with all vendors when billing errors are found.
  • Manage all Print Media Department functions and responsibilities: print, bindery, signs & displays, set-up & break-down, etc.
  • Manage timeline for all production to meet deadlines. Arrange job priorities and schedules.
  • Alter and update preexisting art layouts for simple print jobs using InDesign & Photoshop. Also create press-sheet layout from 1-up art (provided) using over-size stock to create multiple-up layouts to minimize print costs. Create multiple-up large format print layouts for stage props & signs to maximize use of space and minimize cost.
  • Vet three or more sales and service companies to purchase replacement machines. Negotiate purchase prices and favorable Service Contract terms for copier maintenance and supplies.
  • Maintain operation and service for all Print Media equipment: copiers, hydraulic paper cutter, scoring machine, paper folder, saddle stitcher, paper drill, laminator, substrate cutter, Epson wide format printer, etc.
  • Calculate all costs per job; printing, paper, materials, outside vendor costs, etc., and charge ministries for each job accordingly
  • Maintain inventory of hall-sign hardware. Set up and breakdown signs as needed.
  • Other duties as work necessitates.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a growing & mature, demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • High School degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in print shop environment.
  • Proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • High level of interpersonal and relationship skills essential.
  • Above average ability to be flexible, organize, manage time and set/shift priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills (grammar, writing and editing) as well as presentation skills required.
