PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop lesson plans that address & support students’ academic needs and program objectives.
- Implement the program curriculum as planned by the SYNC Site Director to ensure a quality experience for all participants.
- Work with program personnel to implement engaging, developmentally appropriate, and educational enrichment curriculum and programming which expands and supports student learning experiences beyond the classroom.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships through effective and timely communication with the SYNC Director and other program personnel.
- Assist the SYNC Site/Project Director in addressing the ongoing needs of the students and parents.
- Implement program procedures effectively to ensure the safety of all participants.
- Observe, monitor, and participate in student’s play activities.
- Promote a safe and healthy environment based on safety standards set within the program.
- Support the emotional and social development of children.
- Report any concerns and questions regarding the program (students, parents, equipment needs, supplies, other staff, volunteers, etc.) to the SYNC Program Manager/ Director.
- Maintain accurate and organized records such as attendance records, timesheets, incident reports, and all other paperwork as instructed by the SYNC Program Manager/ Director to ensure program compliance and quality operations.
- Assist in the cleaning and straightening of the room and equipment before, during, and after the program.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills and technology competencies that can be used when tutoring students.
- Dresses appropriately for the teaching/learning environment.
- Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality during the academic year and summer camp.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Instructors must be willing to work with students in grades 3-12. Requirements are as follows:
- A relevant subject matter expertise in reading/language arts and math.
- Preference will be given to candidates with GaPSC certificate/certification, tutoring experience, certified teachers, and retired teachers.
- Each applicant must submit a cover letter and resume with names of references.
- Applicants must be available to work from August-April of each school year.
- Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills and technology competencies that can be used when tutoring students.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
