PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Director in overseeing and managing volunteer ministry teams, ensuring volunteers’ needs and consideration are taken into account for events and other volunteer requests.
  • Assist with the implementation and development of departmental operations making sure all guidelines and protocols are met concerning volunteer ministries.
  • Ensure volunteer ministries comply with WCCI policies and Standard Operating procedures concerning background checks, money transactions, building access, Dome Lobby access, monthly bulletin requests, and Human Resources updates (as it relates to them).
  • Prepares, maintains, and assist volunteer ministries with their requests: (financial, reports, budgets, meeting space, ministry information and clarification, ministry/department meetings/events approvals, team members issues, meetings with leadership, etc.)
  • Gathers and compiles data from volunteer ministries and departments for weekly report.
  • Prepares information needed for meetings with staff or volunteer ministries and attends departmental meetings on behalf of volunteer ministries
  • Handle complex situations requiring solutions and assist in resolving ministries and department disputes or misunderstandings
  • Coordinates volunteers for ministry related matters and all events.
  • Attends Ministry Affairs & Outreach events ensuring the appropriate amount of volunteers have been scheduled to serve for each event.
  • Provides administrative support for the office of Ministry Affairs & Outreach.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP
EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 or more years of experience in an administrative environment.
  • Prior experience in a church environment preferred.
  • *SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to handle confidential information at all times

  • Must maintain accountability and be able to work independently
  • Must be able to maintain a Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office software)
  • Ability to prepare reports
  • Ability to plan and organize
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Good knowledge of general office practices and business English
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public
  • Ability to be a self-starter with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility a must
  • High level of confidentiality, telephone etiquette and accuracy required
  • Extremely strong/inter-personal skills
