Occupational Summary:

The Writer/Editor is primarily responsible for writing web copy that is developed in, or filtered through, the Marketing and Publications Departments. Projects include, but are not limited to, writing weekly copy, promotional copy, ministry updates, devotionals, weekly sermon study notes, and disaster responses. Other responsibilities include writing mini-books, QC’ing content, and using project management software.

 


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Writes Creflo Dollar Ministries website copy and meets all deadlines for efficient posting (e.g., weekly study notes, daily devotionals, weekly devotionals, weekly articles)
  • Writes partner letters, thank you letters, and Bible reading plans
  • Writes devotional books and mini books, as assigned
  • Shortens and reformats broadcast study notes
  • QC’s content on website
  • Catalogs web content
  • Attends meetings related to web assignments
  • Ensures tone and content reflect the heart and vision of our pastors
  • Research information required for assigned projects
  • Ensures Scripture accuracy
  • Remains current on industry and ministry standards
  • Follows department workflow procedures and approvals
  • Effectively utilizes department’s project management software
  • Submits new book and project ideas
  • Presents ideas, concepts, and recommendations to fulfill and expand objectives
  • Enforces the use of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and format
  • Employs quick turn-around while maintaining accuracy
  • Prioritizes assignments, juggles multiple tasks, and meets deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned or required

 


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism or Communications

 


EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior work experience in writing and editing web content, articles, and books is preferred, but not required
  • Proven ability in managing multiple tasks effectively and efficiently

 


SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to apply the elements of style as outlined in the Chicago or Associated Press Manuals of Style
  • Proficient in MS Word
  • Highly skilled in the use of proper spelling and grammar
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, creative, and dependable
  • A quick learner and self-motivated; takes the initiative to complete important assignments and meet deadlines
  • Works well with others

 


EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

  • Computer, copier and office equipment

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment
