The Campaign for Catholic Schools seeks a new senior team member as a valuable addition to the work underway to rebuild urban Catholic Schools in Greater Boston. The Campaign for Catholic Schools has raised over $100 million to renovate buildings, improve academics, and support the teachers in new ways. We have attracted an ecumenical group of business leaders from the hedge, private equity and investment community, who believe in this work and who generously support it.
The Associate Vice President will report to the Vice President of Development and Strategy and be responsible for the leadership annual giving group ($2,500+), the Honor Roll, and for partnering with the VP on major gift fundraising, including preparing written proposals and reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and grow the Honor Roll, with the assistance of a volunteer committee of business and civic leaders. The Honor Roll is the signature annual giving group of CCS.
  • Organize, with support from the development associate, small group fundraising prospect breakfasts and luncheon events.
  • Serve as a cultivation and solicitation partner with the President and Vice President, including the management of a portfolio of major gift prospects.
  • Prepare high-quality fundraising proposals and reports for prospects and donors, as needed.
  • Implement best practices in project management to ensure that performance outcomes are achieved, deadlines are met within budget, and department objectives and timelines are adhered to and managed according to expectation.
  • Advise the communications and marketing team on e-mail and e-newsletter campaigns and social media strategy, ensuring that communication is clear and effective

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three to five years fundraising experience with a demonstrated ability to solicit gifts and steward high level donors.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust workflow based on institutional priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with prospect tracking systems.
  • Professional demeanor, ability to interact well with high-level executives, clergy, trustees, community members and partner organizations and to maintain a level of confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to communicate skillfully and persuasively - both orally and in written form.

PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:

  • Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
  • Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
  • Ability to lift to 20 pounds.
