General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Pastor and Pastoral Associate in the mission of the Parishes and the work of evangelization.
- Plan and coordinate Grades 6-10 Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs, including registration, in collaboration with the Coordinator of Religious Education for Grades 1-5 and within the context of the overall Parish Faith Formation Program.
- In conjunction with the Pastor & Pastoral Associate, select all texts and materials for Grades 6-10 Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs based on Archdiocesan/ USCCB guidelines and instruct Catechists and Facilitators in their use.
- Recruit, train, supervise and provide enrichment for Catechists and other volunteers working within the Grades 6-10 Religious Education Program.
- Provide spiritual, service and social opportunities for teens to be engaged in the parishes.
- Develop high school leaders who will share in the responsibility of planning Youth Ministry events.
- Maintain all required records for students, families and volunteers.
- Support the Archdiocese of Boston by implementing all required safety programs for Grades 6-10 Religious Education Students.
- Attend regularly scheduled Staff Meetings.
- Plan and implement the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
- Provide publicity materials for all Religious Ed and Youth Ministry events.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the Pastor & Pastoral Associate.
Qualifications:
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be a practicing Catholic who attends Mass weekly, regularly receives the Sacraments and possesses a solid knowledge of Catholic doctrine
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a detail-oriented mindset
- Strong written, verbal, communication skills and comfort with public speaking
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Application/Zoom
Experience:
At least two years of experience in leading parish faith formation programs and pastoral ministry; computer & internet skills.
Education:
M.A. in Religious Education, Theology, Scripture, Liturgical Studies or a related field.
