St. Michael Parish is seeking a Faith Formation Director to join a parish team with responsibilities to share the Catholic faith and provide education as well as community and formation opportunities to assist the youth in grades 1-6 in developing a life of discipleship as followers of Jesus Christ. This candidate will enjoy working collaboratively with a parish team, be a faithful Catholic, have a demonstrable leadership role in a parish program, and possess a bachelor’s degree or life-experience equivalent.
The candidate will have a direct responsibility for:
Directing all aspects of the Faith Formation program for grades 1-6, and
Preparing children to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and
First Holy Communion, and
Providing guidance and support to parents who desire to catechize their children at home, and
Collaborating with clergy and parish staff in running the Vacation Bible Camp for children in grades 1-6, and
Facilitating “Protecting God’s Children” training for parishioners, and
Coordinating the completion and submission of CORI forms on an annual basis, and
Developing, in collaboration with the youth minister, the EDGE (LifeTeen) faith formation/youth ministry program for middle schoolers (grades 6-7-8)
