Multimedia Reporters/Producers (audio/video) (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, MA): The Multimedia Reporter/Producer (a/v) role executes original reporting and then produces completed pieces of freestanding digital content - including audio, video, and animation (datavisualization). The Multimedia Reporter/Producer (a/v) will act as a member of the Monitor's core multimedia storytelling team and adhere to the Monitor's high journalistic standards. The Multimedia Reporter/Producer (a/v) will also write text-based stories on deadlines, and exhibit relative autonomy in the field while newsgathering in any medium (audio, video, text). Daily duties include: Ensures progress toward output-volume targets (by media type). Provides updates to full team on pitches for both project- or franchise-based work and approved solo assignments. Assists in scripting and producing the Monitor Daily audio program, which accompanies each day's Daily text (email) product. Assists in hosting/anchoring and producing other recurring audio programming. Helps shape, through participation in team planning and pitching, new Monitor multimedia franchises/programs. Edits, polishes, and produces audio work by off-team reporters and editors for whom multimedia is not necessarily familiar work. Develops data-visualization animations as requested by news-desk editors. Maintains a schedule of all Monitor video production and ensures its quality and deadline production. Posts video (and podcast) content to YouTube and other third-party platforms as required. Mentors interns/production assistants in both technical skill-development and brand-resonant Monitor story pitches. Proficiently uses the following tools and technologies: professional video cameras, professional audio recorders, Adobe Premiere Pro Editing Software, Adobe After Effects (animation), Adobe Audition, transcription service/tool Trint and managing a Youtube channel. Telecommuting permitted. Less than 30 days of domestic travel per year.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field of study (foreign equivalent degrees accepted), and working knowledge of professional video cameras, professional audio recorders, and editing software.
