Responsibilities
•
The promotion service operates as a center of excellence [CoE] to maintain appropriate quality and consistency across the organization
•
P&DSG collaborates with client departments to develop and implement the overall promotion vision of the publications, products, communications, marketing and promotional materials of TFCCS and CSPS
•
Under the direction of the Promotion and Events Manager, the incumbent carries out all functions of this position in alignment with the organization’s vision and mission and the department’s principles
•
This position may participate in agile product development as a cross-functional team [CFT] member as assigned
•
CFTs are structured and empowered to organize and manage their own work in such a way as to complete the priorities established by the Product Owner with quality ensured by the Design CoE
•
CFT work may include but is not limited to generating essential and actionable onsite and offsite promotions for the CFT that enhance and improve the customer experience
•
This position will communicate recommendations and results to both team members and leadership in an actionable way
•
Less than 50% of this position's time is spent as a Subject Matter Expert [SME] in promotions and events
•
While not a CFT member in other areas, this position supports the remaining Church’s Product Owners and Client Department Managers who prioritize the product, editorial, and promotions work for their specific product
•
The position will help vet, implement, troubleshoot, manage, and oversee the promotional campaigns of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, on an ad hoc basis
•
Contributes to strategy discussions with P&DSG management and client departments
•
Supports the implementation of social media strategy
•
Determines best platform for message
•
Writes promotional copy for various social media channels
•
Coordinates efforts with Design and Analytics
•
Promotional Copywriting (25%)
•
Writes promotional copy for products and events, including advertisements, posters, point of sale documents, and flyers
•
Revises and resubmits based on client and management recommendations
•
Periodical Ad Administration (25%)
•
Administers ad scheduling and production timelines for ads and classified ads placed in the Christian Science periodicals
•
Works with the Promotion & Events Manager and Promotion & Events Specialist on ad strategy
•
Works with Design group to have ads ready for publishing
•
Fields questions from clients about space availability
•
Supports efforts in peer-to-peer event planning for products and initiatives
•
Includes invitations, registrations, assembling materials for distribution, ideas for agenda, welcoming guests, and working with A/V, set up crews, and other staff
•
Implements direct marketing programs under the direction of Promotion & Events Manager (5%)
•
Implements direct mail promotion campaigns including gifts, insert cards, coverwraps, and online promotions
•
Analyzes audience behaviors of subscription portfolios such as crossover between titles and potential growth opportunities
•
Supports efforts to gather customer feedback regarding promotions and events
•
Supports implementation of new business opportunities, including alternative sales channels, new product development, and strategic marketing partnerships
