We are currently seeking a full-time Student Support Counselor for the Education and Workforce program located in Jamaica Plain.

Student Support Counselor compiles, maintains, and reports records of data; assists program director with student data reporting and analysis; tracks student attendance throughout the cycle; provides personal counseling and makes referrals to services for current students; conducts initial student orientation; provides information about available services to prospective students and general public; oversees and facilitates the intake procedures; provides initial response to inquiries and referrals.

Qualifications include

  • BA in Education, Human Services or related field with at least two years’ experience.
  • Bilingual – Spanish / English, bicultural preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows computer environment preferred with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet including remote technology
  • Experience working with language minorities.
  • Interest in working with adults in a community-based agency.
  • Ability to work with people of all ethnic, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of an educational and social support team.
  • Ability to pass a criminal offense record inquiry.
