Saint Raphael’s Parish in Medford is currently looking for a part-time Youth Ministry Music Associate to join their team. This person will work with the Pastor & Director of Music, as well as other parish staff, and musicians. They will regularly identify and recruit new volunteers, especially teens and young adults, and help to shepherd, train, and manage them during Liturgies and other performances. This person will have shared responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the musical and technical equipment owned by the Parish. This position is an hourly position, 5-10 hours per week.
Qualifications
Must be an engaging, talented individual to fill the role of Youth Ministry Music Associate. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic, skilled in singing and playing the Piano. This person is responsible or leading praise and worship music at the Sunday 5:00 PM Mass. Required to work evenings, weekends & Holidays. This is a part-time, on-site position.
Significant skill as a vocalist, instrumentalist, and in the technological components of worship ministry is expected. A college degree, as well as some formal training in music is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years in ministry is preferred.
Skilled in playing the Piano or another instrument.
Strong internal skills and ability to successfully work with youth.
Able to read, compose and create music.
A working understanding of the technical aspects of multimedia, sound systems, digital and analog sound boards, presentation software, and computers.
Able to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and child protection program.
Selects Music for 5:00 Sunday Liturgies in accordance with Church Documents.
Oversees compliance with copyright laws and licensing procedures.
Participates in needed staff meetings.
Preferred
Meets regularly with the staff and volunteers and is available to provide training that they may need.
Demonstrated ability to draw people into worship participation.
Prepare Worship Aids for Sunday 5:00 Liturgy.
