The Concord Baptist Church recently greeted Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Conley Hughes for his 35 years of pastoral ministry.
Celebrating 35 Years of Church Service
On the Concord Baptist Church of Boston’s Facebook page, the church greeted the senior pastor for over three decades of pastoral ministry. The church thanked the pastor for his services and said it celebrates his life as a preacher.
The church also quoted Jeremiah 3:15, which says, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
The church community received the post well, with people congratulating the pastor for the milestone.

According to the church page, it is an “inter-generational community of believers who are committed to serving God and others.”
The church says it believes in the Bible and living the faith in and out of it. As such, the church’s mission is to minister the Word of God through teachings, preaching, and outreach.
The church page says it all started in 1916 when a group of 16 Christians gathered for a Bible study at Sister Lydia Glover’s residence at 14 Northfield St. in Boston. The group would then grow and eventually become the church known today.
Since its foundation, the church has been led by reverends William Dabbs, Charles G. Adams, and Own Cardwell, to name a few.

The church says that Pastor Conley H. Hughes, Jr. has been serving as the senior pastor of the Concord Baptist Church Boston for over 34 years. An experienced preacher, Pastor Hughes served as the pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Haverhill, Mass., for about a decade before serving Concord Church.
The pastor is a graduate of several institutions, such as the Florida Memorial College and Boston University School of Theology. He also holds a doctorate from the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
He received his “full ordination” from the American Baptist Churches, USA. Currently, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Baptist Home Mission Societies or ABHMS. He previously served the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts and the New England Baptist Council.
As a community member, he serves on the Governor’s Advisory Commission for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Because of his work, the pastor has received multiple recognitions, including the Daniel Sharpe Award for Ministerial Leadership, King-Ghandi-Ikeda Award for Nonviolence, and the Urban League Religious Leadership Award.
Pastor Moreen P. Hughes
According to the church, Reverend Moreen is the wife of Reverend Conley. Reverend Moreen serves the church as its Associate Pastor and Minister to Women.
The church says that the female reverend is an anointed woman of God gifted to serve every woman she encounters.
Apart from the church, she also serves as the Association Resource Coordinator of The American Baptist Churches of MA and a representative on the Board of Directors for The Conference of Baptists Ministers in Massachusetts. Also, she is the founder and president of the non-profit organization Tabitha International Ministries, Inc.
