LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In partnership with the Senior Minister and the Christian Education (CE) Committee, provide vision and leadership to CE staff and volunteers
  • Supervise paid CE staff, including performing annual evaluations
  • Work with CE staff and CE Committee to outline an annual program calendar and prepare the department’s annual budget
  • Inventory and order necessary supplies and curricula to support the CE ministries
  • Maintain all CE-related records, including but not limited to, personnel files, background check information, training resources, and/or program files
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce a Child Protection Policy
  • Work with CE staff to recruit, train, and empower volunteers for ministry
  • Create job descriptions for paid staff and volunteer leaders, in consultation with the CE Committee and Senior Minister
  • Work with other staff to promote ministries and events well and regularly
  • Work with Senior Minister to accomplish the vision and goals of the larger worshiping community.

STUDENT MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide vision and leadership to the junior and senior high student ministry, including students, families, and volunteers
  • Develop processes: o to reach unchurched and under-churched students o for student discipleship and growth o for student-led ministries o to assimilate students and families into the larger worshiping community of

The Church in Aurora

  • Work with volunteers to facilitate missional and/or service opportunities for students and families
  • Be present where the students are (schools, sporting events, musicals/plays, church events, etc.)

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as a team with other staff members
  • Attend required staff meetings and gatherings
  • Attend Sunday morning worship at The Church in Aurora
  • Participate in regular performance evaluations
  • Be privately and publicly loyal to the Christian faith, the church, the staff and lay leaders at The Church in Aurora.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in student ministry preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field for a student ministry position
  • Self-starter

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
