RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the Director of Marriage and Family to promote a comprehensive vision across all eight counties of the diocese that supports single persons, couples and families at all life stages, strengthens their faith life, and nurtures generational connections.
- General administrative duties, including handling phone calls, preparing correspondence, maintaining proper file retention, etc.
- Coordinate workshops, trainings, conferences and/or retreats that focus on all aspects of family life and fosters the domestic church.
- Provide training, coordination and oversight of support group facilitators and volunteers.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant ministries, programs and resources, and serve as a point of contact for parish staff, lay organizations, and general inquiries.
- Assist with annual budget and maintain accurate records on an ongoing basis.
- Assist and perform other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church who is committed to the teachings, values and traditions of the Catholic Church.
- In-depth familiarity with the Roman Catholic Church, its structure, teaching, beliefs and attitudes, with particular emphasis on the parish environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the areas of marriage preparation, bereavement ministry, pastoral care and/or mental health.
- Good knowledge of Church teaching particularly on marriage and family, theology of the body, and family life issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and support people with diverse ethnic, social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
- A creative thinker who will take initiative to develop new areas of outreach and programs.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Availability and commitment to work weekdays, and some evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information.
