Under the direction of the Director of Marriage and Family Ministry, the Marriage and Family Ministry Specialist is responsible for organizing, developing, and supporting ministry programs that respond to the needs of couples and families as they live out their Catholic faith. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to evangelize, utilizing resources and skills to meet the needs of individuals and families in times of joy as well as during life’s struggles. Applicants should be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will involve working some nights and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Director of Marriage and Family to promote a comprehensive vision across all eight counties of the diocese that supports single persons, couples and families at all life stages, strengthens their faith life, and nurtures generational connections.
General administrative duties, including handling phone calls, preparing correspondence, maintaining proper file retention, etc.
Coordinate workshops, training, conferences, and retreats that focus on all aspects of family life and foster the domestic church.
Provide training, coordination, and oversight of support group facilitators and volunteers.
Maintain knowledge of relevant ministries, programs, and resources, and serve as a point of contact for parish staff, lay organizations, and general inquiries.
Assist with annual budget and maintain accurate records on an ongoing basis.
Assist and perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church who is committed to the teachings, values, and traditions of the Catholic Church.
In-depth familiarity with the Roman Catholic Church, its structure, teaching, beliefs, and attitudes, particularly in the parish environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
At least 3-5 years of experience in marriage preparation, bereavement ministry, pastoral care, and mental health.
Good knowledge of Church teaching, particularly on marriage and family, theology of the body, and family life issues.
You have demonstrated the ability to work with and support people with diverse ethnic, social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
A creative thinker who will take the initiative to develop new areas of outreach and programs.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong collaboration and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Availability and commitment to work weekdays and some evenings and weekends.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
You have demonstrated the ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information.
