Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write both small and large group curriculum for Sunday mornings. This includes: Vision casting, prayer, brainstorming meetings, research and administration of all systems of ministry that pertain to preschool curriculum. This also includes participation in the filming of Kids’ Church Online (KCO) on Tuesday evenings. KCO has become the main curriculum source used on Sunday mornings. Collaborate with the Elementary Ministry Coordinator to align Preschool Summer Story Times with Elem. Summer Bible Intensive. Summer Story Time occurs once/week for six weeks for 1 hour.
  • Provide leadership to the Preschool volunteers. This includes: Recruiting, training, scheduling, team building, management, and administration of all systems of ministry that pertain to small and large group.
  • Align small group activities with the large group lesson. Each week, assemble Sunday School Send Home bags: Plan, organize, and purchase (when applicable) craft supplies and coloring page for the team. Create ¼ sheet postcard with craft instructions and Family Huddle questions for parents to use at home. Set up both small and large group areas, providing appropriate materials.
  • Collaborate with other ministry directors in the Milestone Ministry. Plan, facilitate, and provide materials for the Preschool Milestone workshop. Exercise relational ministry with parents of preschool-aged children such that parents are encouraged and equipped to serve as their child’s primary faith trainer.
  • Serve as a contributing member of the Children’s Ministry team and the full staff of BPC.
  • Attend weekly Staff Connect meetings as available.
  • Serve as the liaison between BPC Children’s Ministry and Compassion International.

 

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • A heart for children’s ministry, worship, and a willingness to serve the Lord.
  • Hard working and the ability to be flexible in an ever-changing environment. Creative and able to think out of the box.
  • Able to work in a team environment with a willingness to step in where needed.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • BA in Education or previous experience in an educational setting.
  • Possess strong computer skills with working knowledge of both Apple and Microsoft platforms.
  • Creativity and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Satisfactory background check required for all positions.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift/hold a preschool-aged child.
