Program Statement: Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland is seeking a motivated, mission-driven, knowledgeable social worker to join Migration and Refugee Services. Migration and Refugee Services resettles approximately 450 refugees annually from Bhutan, Burma, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Eritrea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, and Ukraine. We respect the dignity of each person and provide a supportive environment where each individual and culture is celebrated. Building upon the courage and strength of these newcomers, we seek to empower them to achieve self-sufficiency and independence.
Job Summary:
Assist refugees in attaining basic needs and services including, but not limited to: housing, food,
clothing, health screening, public benefits access, community orientation, and linkages with
parish and community support systems.
Accompany refugees to necessary appointments and teach refugees how to travel
unaccompanied to future meetings.
Document all activities with refugees in individual case files; ensure case files are in
compliance with agency and federal guidelines.
Facilitate cultural adjustment groups.
Experience
Preferred
1 - 3 years: Experience Working with Refugee and Immigrants
1 - 3 years: Case Management Experience
