Volunteer & Administrative Coordinator

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL, DIOCESE OF CLEVELAND

The Volunteer & Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for volunteer management and the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the central office for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Diocese of Cleveland. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Volunteer & Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for programmatic and administrative tasks. This includes assisting in performance management of direct reports; development and training; volunteer relations; internal communications amongst staff and volunteers; and employee/volunteer safety and welfare.

Responsibilities:
\*Screen and evaluate potential volunteers; train volunteers.
\*Serve as primary volunteer contact.
\*Assist Conferences (SVDP parish member groups) in completing annual report requirements, including teaching where necessary, and working through reporting issues.
\*Plan and implement orientations and training for new and existing Conferences and members.
\*Assist with inputting donations into Donor Snap, SVDP’s donor management database, as necessary.
\*Coordinate special projects, including the Back-to-School Program, on an ongoing basis.
\*Coordinate Conference/volunteer-centered events, such as mass/breakfasts, and volunteer recognitions.
\*Update/Maintain SVDP membership database (via National website). This includes updating and maintaining master Vincentian and volunteer lists.
\*Plan and implement orientations and training for new and existing Conferences and members.
\*Collaborate with CEO to attend SVDP District meetings as representative of Central office.
\*Periodically write and/or present reports for SVDP Board.
\*Assist the CEO in representing the Society when necessary.

Qualifications:
\*Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; also helpful is a focus on nonprofit management, counseling or social work.

\*Minimum of five years’ work experience or equivalency when combined with volunteer efforts, preferably with nonprofit organizations.

\*Understanding of poverty, minority and cultural issues.

\*Good interpersonal skills.

\*Knowledge of Roman Catholic Church and parish life.

\*Detail-oriented and possessing strong oral and written communication skills.

\*Able to utilize a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet usage.

\*Ability to work closely with and motivate volunteers.

Pay: $20,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
