Position Summary:
Serve as a mission-driven, entrepreneurial leader in communications, marketing, sales and advancement. Oversee development and implementation of long and short-range fiscally responsible strategic goals in alignment with mission, vision and impact to ensure continual growth, vitality, strength and sustainability. Conceptualize, coordinate, execute and disseminate marketing content relevant to a diversified group of stakeholders. Conduct relationship-building efforts and present investment opportunities to high-capacity prospects. Strengthen and maximize existing relationships as well as identify, prioritize and strategize new prospects. Achieve funding goals through strategic personal efforts with the President, Development and Marketing Officer, Pastor and Director of Administration & Advancement. Fully incorporate Dolores Mission’s Marketing and Sales Process as a discipline of excellence.

Position Specific Responsibilities:
Marketing for Dolores Mission Church and School:
Develop digital marketing campaigns and traditional advertising for donor engagement and school enrollment
Conceptualize, shoot, and edit “impact” videos for stakeholder engagement with an emphasis on donor and new student outreach
Conceptualize, record, edit and distribute podcast episodes for Faith in the Flats podcast
Create and post social media content for Instagram and Facebook for both Church and School sites.
Add and edit the school’s website and create & repurpose content for social media accounts
Help the president to develop comprehensive brand, grow brand equity, and awareness
Help to organize teams for enrollment projects
Write effectively for an online audience, in particular via mass email communication and social media
Help run marketing campaigns and plan events that allow Dolores Mission Church and School to be visible to the local and greater Los Angeles and Catholic communities
Gather necessary assets to develop a campaign (videos, photos, copy, digital assets, brochures, etc.)
Develop a plan to develop, manage, and coordinate communications activities for Dolores Mission including organizing press events, writing press releases, and executing social media posts. Press and Media experience
Manage, edit and update the Dolores Mission website including uploading weekly bulletins, amending the calendar and adding special events and other current information.

Vision and Project Funding:
Identify, qualify, prioritize, and strategize high capacity prospects
Work with staff to formulate most effective approach strategies for high capacity prospects
Secure visits to share story and present opportunities to invest
Visit with supporters and maximize relationships to secure funding
Develop relationships with key champions to engage new prospects
Present opportunities to invest (ASK) and follow up to close gifts
Incorporate proven Sales Process elements in every respect of engagement and marketing. Training and coaching to be provided by employer
Secure gifts to fulfill Dolores Mission’s vision priorities and projects
Work with team to increase effectiveness and goal attainment

Funding for Annual Operation and Program Funding:
Invite and engage individuals to participate in Annual Giving program, i.e., GEMs
Invite and engage organizations to sponsor programs, La Fiesta, and Golf Tournament, and any other special event.
Maximize key relationships to ensure continued partnership and funding
Work with team to increase effectiveness and goal attainment
Support annual Christmas sponsor visits and event investment opportunities: tamale visits
Support with annual mailing campaign appeals (Thanksgiving, Easter, and Women’s Auxiliary)

Planned Gifts:
In coordination with the Pastor, President and Director of Administration & Advancement, develop a Planned Legacy program to secure long term impact.
Present Legacy Society planned giving opportunities to prospective donors in order to secure long term impact
Work with planned gift experts to maximize opportunities presented
Secure documented Legacy Society gifts to reach goals

Sales Process and Documentation:
Fully incorporate Sales Process as a discipline of excellence
Use effective written approach and relationship building strategies
Use effective predisposition strategies to get visits, conduct visits, present opportunities, follow up
Document visit call memos and next step action plans
Document gift commitments.
Tailor and develop engagement tools as needed
Strategize how team members can assist to maximize visits

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:
At minimum three years of non-profit fundraising, advancement or development experience, preferably in a Catholic urban school setting.
Ability to serve as a role model within Archdiocesan and Catholic communities. Knowledge of the work of Archdiocesan administration in education and familiarity with pressures facing both Catholic and under- resourced schools.
Exemplary communication, organization, team building, and leadership skills.
Ability to attend frequent evening and weekend events.
Must have valid CA driver’s license and realizable transportation.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Education, Communication, Administration, Business, or related field.
Suggested education: master’s degree in related field.
Full-time exempt
