The Dean of Faculty is directly responsible to the Principal and the duties shall be:

1. Formally evaluate teaching staff including pre and post conference;

2. Keep faculty attendance records;

3. Calculate faculty good attendance pay off and substitution payoffs.

4. The Director of faculty in service programs;

5. The assignment and supervision of substitute teachers;

6. The coordination of faculty attendance at school sponsored functions;

7. The orientation of all new faculty members;

8. The “ex officio” membership in the Administrative Team, the Disciplinary Board and the Academic Council;

9. To assist the Principal in screening teacher applicants;

10. Assist new teachers in their transition;

11. Approve in advance for professional conference participation by teachers;

12. The coordination of faculty social events;

13. Additional supervision/administrative support; and

14. Continue to develop teacher evaluation program;

15. Supervise and evaluate faculty members.

16. Supervise clerical staff

Requirements

BA in a subject taught at St. Francis; MA degree; 8-10 years experience teaching and/or in administration in an accredited four-year high school. Demonstrated excellence in the classroom, high degree of professionalism, willingness to collaborate, strong work ethic, and Franciscan mission-driven decision making.

Preferred requirements (in addition to the above):
Teaching credential and/or Administrative credential; MA degree in Education or Educational Administration; significant administrative experience in a Catholic school setting.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
