Full Job Description

The Director of Admissions has primary responsibility for achieving the admissions goals for NDA by working with prospective students, their parents, and various school staff and administrators in the areas of recruitment, admissions, and direct marketing. This position evaluates the academic records of prospective students.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Create and execute an admissions and retention plan that will achieve the school admissions goals by:

Identifying feeder schools, calendaring recruitment presentations, and representing NDA at feeder school functions

Managing and personalizing the admissions process for prospective families

Coordinating and leading campus tours, shadow days, interviews, etc.

Organizing, overseeing and attending events, such as Open House, shadow days, practice HSPT and HSPT testing, on- and off-campus receptions, Gryphon Day, Girls Night In, etc.

Drafting, preparing, and mailing (or emailing) correspondence for the Admissions Office; responding to calls and emails quickly and effectively

Managing Admissions website pages, application database and application, including update of application, recommendations, and supplement forms

Training, organizing, and scheduling a student ambassador group

Preparing decision day materials, including screening applications, recommendations, and transcripts and preparing data for committee

Coordinating introductory events for accepted class, such as Girls Night In/ Parents Night Out

Preparing reports and statistics as required, and present to the board

Coordinate with social media to highlight admissions

Model the values of and support the teachings of the Catholic Church

Support building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment for all students, faculty and staff

Superior administrative skills

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, courtesy, diplomacy and tact with variety of stakeholders

Understands direct marketing practices, sales techniques, and systems to track leads

Able to drive self, students and materials to events

Able to train and direct staff and volunteers in marketing at various levels

Able to handle multiple priorities with a strategic focus

Proficient in MS Office products, especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel

Requirements

Education and Experience

BA/BS; MA/MBA preferred

5+ years’ experience in admissions preferred, preferably in an independent school, or previous experience directing marketing and sales programs
