Role Summary
Our Director of Communications and Admin will be one of the first and most consistent contacts people have with
Calvary Church. They will manage the church office, give leadership to our communications strategy, our scheduling, events and calendaring process, and provide Executive support to our Lead Pastor. They will partner closely with all members of our Ministry Team to accomplish the mission and vision of Calvary. This is a dynamic role, for someone who is highly motivated, craves organizational excellence, loves working in a Team-based environment, is adaptable, has strong written and verbal communication skills, enjoys balancing multiple projects at once, lives and works with positive energy, seizes initiative, self-motivates, problem solves, and has a passion to carry projects from conception to completion. Our DCA will also be an integral part of our Staff Family, actively participating in our weekly Team meetings, our Spiritual Formation pathway, Team development times, prayer times, and the world famous all Team lunches, parties, and retreats.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Calvary Church office. This includes being the primary phone and email contact, managing the CCB database of members and attenders, ordering supplies, processing mail, taking ownership for

Conference Room use, and maintaining subscriptions/online log-ins.

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute a Church-wide communications plan. Including weekly emails, social media,

Apps, and website. Create online forms for church events and registration in CCB.

  • Oversee Church Calendar and scheduling process. Update, maintain, and keep staff informed of master church

Google calendar. This will include ministry events, meetings, staff vacation days, and annual church organization timelines: budgeting, annual meeting, and leadership board nomination process.

  • Event Coordination and Planning. This will include management of meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, distributing action items, and arranging catering. This will also include helping organize logistics, lead volunteers, and bringing organizational leadership to events.
  • Assist in delivering the Lead Pastors initiatives, communications needs, and meeting coordination.
  • Collaborate with all Staff to ensure administrative needs are met across the functions of the Church.
  • Be highly relational and communicative on behalf of Calvary Church
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Varying professional administrative tasks, but not limited to: ordering supplies, shopping/and or ordering goods for ministry needs, and making reservations for events.

Key Competencies

Quality Communication: The DCA must be an excellent communicator, in both written and oral form. This includes proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation as well as being able to take a large amount of information and summarize it quickly both written and orally. Must be able to track communication and be responsive across multiple channels without losing details. Those channels could include in-person meetings, phone calls, text, Google Docs comments, text messages, and emails.

High Level of Discretion: Since the DCA will work with confidential information, discretion and sensitivity are a must.

Team Player: In addition to working directly with the Lead Pastor, the DCA will also work with Elders, Deacons, and other staff. They will need to be able to collaborate and communicate well with these team members, maintaining a high level of support and professionalism.

Management: The DCA will generally be overseeing a number of projects at once. They will need to set priorities, work independently on projects, and work under deadlines at times to handle a wide variety needs.

Anticipating Needs: As a part of our commitment to enabling the DCA to serve our Calvary family to the best of their ability, it is important that the DCA strives to anticipate needs, understanding their support role is crucial to the Ministry Team’s success and ability to make the greatest contribution to the organization.

Proficient in Technology: The DCA will be a technologically savvy Mac user and willing to learn new technology.
Proficiency in the following platforms is ideal: Zoom, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Planning Center,
WordPress, Apple platforms, CCB, and Mailchimp. (Training will be available if some platforms are new).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
