Position Summary: Immanuel Presbyterian Church is looking for a reliable Facilities MaintenanceLead with “handyman” skills to undertake, upkeep, and repair the interior or exterior of our large building. We will rely on the person in this position to keep our facilities in good condition by completing various jobs and prioritizing multiple projects in coordination with the Pastor and others as directed. This job values a keen eye for detail and physical stamina greatly.

Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance and light repairs. Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure, or breakdowns. Respond to tenants’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner. Identifies and reports the need for significant repairs. Perform routine landscaping on the grounds. Paint and fill gaps or crevices. Undertake light installation (e.g., cabinets) or carpeting/flooring: repair equipment or appliances. Assist vendors with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other repairs. Develops comprehensive building maintenance plan and schedules in collaboration with Pastor, coordinates & communicates with Pastor to seek outside vendors to bid when needed work is beyond the scope of current skills. Triage requests in terms of cost and urgency. Maintain records of inspections, repairs, vendor contracts, and floor plans. Undertake duties as assigned, or emergency tasks when necessary Identify and report the need for significant repairs. Processes requests for payment and submits reports to Pastor and Executive Assistant. Keep your work area clean during and after tasks are completed and other duties as assigned.

Desired Education Degree or Formal Training: Completion of High School or GED required License, Certificate, or Registration: n/aPhysical Requirements and Work Environment: Ability to bend, climb stairs, and lift between 10 and 40 pounds frequently. Ability to sit, using a desktop computer or a laptop, as well as other office equipment continuously.Required Skills and Experience:

Proven experience as a handyman Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, roofing, or HVAC systems. Excellent communication skills & collaborates well with others Ability to execute multiple simultaneous projects and discern and prioritize the urgency of each Well-organized and apt in problem-solving Attention to detail Familiarity with city/state permitting and licensing credentials and processes. Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, Google mail

Preferred Skills and Experience: Bilingual (English/ Spanish) Drivers license and ability to operate a large (class C) commercial truck, including liftgate and electric pallet jack Experience installing and replacing plumbing systems, HVAC knowledge, and repair skills Carpentry skills fixing furniture
