BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
We are looking for someone passionate about supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion and an effective communicator who can help inspire others and support the facilitation of crucial conversations to foster a culture of safety and belonging. If you have experience training and presenting to a diverse audience, creating and delivering presentations and reports to senior leadership, staff, and faculty, a working knowledge of HR-related policies, laws, and regulations, and are data-driven, this may be the perfect fit!

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the supervision of the HR&W Director, the HR&W Representative performs a variety of responsible technical and administrative duties in support of the human resources programs for certificated and classified staff; prepares and maintains personnel records, files, and reports; provides information and assistance to staff/faculty and in some cases, the public regarding personnel matters; and performs related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
Administering and explaining benefits to employees, serving as a liaison between third-party administrators and employees.
Participating in the development and execution of onboarding and orientation programs and procedures for new employees.
Perform customer service functions by handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Conduct benefits enrollment for new employees within the HRIS system along with Benefits Brokers.
Complete I-9 for new hires and maintain I-9 records.
Conduct audits of various payroll actions (PAFs), benefits or other HR programs and brainstorm any corrective action needed.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Update HRIS database records and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes.
Assist the DEI Director with culture transformation and capacity building
Support with communication and feedback mechanisms to ensure all employees can identify, discuss, and address equity issues impacting them and our community members
Assist with planning professional development sessions
Expand, enhance, and support employee affinity groups
Recruitment partner – Post jobs/refresh, attend job fairs/source candidates – Assist with the recruitment and interview process.
Assist HR&W Director with various research projects and/or special projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Ethnic Studies, Organizational Development, Diversity Management, or a related field; AND An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above

2+ years of Human Resources Experience (Within Schools preferred)
An HR Certification is highly preferred (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
Advanced MS Office knowledge, including Excel, Adobe Prof, Word, and Power Point
