St. Teresa of Avila School, located in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, is part of the new Microschools Network of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. This exciting partnership provides support for schools that are small by design, have multi-age pedagogy, blended learning, and a whole child approach that includes art, PE, music, and gardening. We are seeking a dynamic Jr. High English and Social Studies teacher who wants to help build this unique and innovative program.
Requirements
BA from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated record of success working with elementary students and is a team player
Passion for and experience with curriculum development and assessment
Well-organized, highly energetic, and deeply caring
Ability to plan and implement a rigorous academic curriculum in line with the Common Core and Archdiocesan standards.
Skill in differentiation and classroom management
Willingness to collaborate with parents/families and fellow teachers to create and deliver a service-oriented curriculum
While not required, the most competitive candidates will possess or be working on the following:
CA teaching credential and/or Masters in Education
