Full Job Description
Mary Star of the Sea Elementary believes deeply in the principles of Faith – Family – Country and seeks to weave them throughout all grade levels and subjects. The social studies courses (gr 5 – 8) examine the knowledge, histories, and experiences of diverse groups of people and places over the expanse of human history. Through the study of history, teachers will instruct students on how to think, read, and write analytically, so a successful candidate will have strong literacy and communication skills. The successful candidate will know how to design and implement lessons that allow students to see themselves in the curriculum, voice their own stories, and learn about others.
Requirements
The successful candidate has at least two years experience teaching middle school social studies and has completed or currently enrolled in a single-subject credential program.
