Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, the 4th of California’s 21 Historic Missions, is located in the Mission District of San Gabriel and is looking to reopen their Gift Shop. As a representative of Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, the Lead Sales Associate must provide a positive, helpful, and pleasant experience to all visitors of the Mission. Customer Service is the highest priority along with a strong knowledge of Catholic faith and practices.

The primary function of this position is sales, customer service, and inventory management for the Gift Shop but also includes display merchandizing, inventory management, and phone inquiries.

Work schedules may include weekends, holidays, and special Liturgical events. As all Mission San Gabriel employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, employees are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma/G.E.D. (Some college preferred)
  • 3 years’ experience in a lead retail customer service position
  • Point of Sale Software operating experience required
  • Some knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
  • Knowledge of Catholic faith and practices

General Requirements & Skills

  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Basic knowledge of current word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  • Proficiency with Facebook and Instagram.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Adapt to changing tasks and priorities as dictated by variable store environment

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and climbing ladders.

Wage Range
$20-$22
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
