Long Term Social Studies Substitute

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This 5 week position reports to the Social Studies Department Chair, and the administrative team of Principal and Vice Principals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Demonstrate passion and expertise in the teaching of social studies courses at the high school level.
Well-versed in multiple areas of social studies curricula.
Proficient in the use of technology in the classroom and willing to incorporate it as a strategy to engage learners.
Willingness to differentiate learning to reach a range of student learning styles.
Participate in school-wide and departmental faculty meetings and professional growth opportunities.
Meet with students and parents, as needed, during x period, before and after school.
Candidates should be comfortable delivering instruction on campus and occasionally via remote learning if necessary.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in history or a related field, Bachelor minimum, Masters/credential preferred.
Experience in Catholic high school preferred.
Ability to develop and implement an effective and engaging curriculum.
Ability to relate to high school students and build positive relationships while maintaining healthy boundaries.
Willingness to collaborate, problem-solve, and share best practices with colleagues.
High-level of familiarity with and competence across cultures and multiple perspectives.
Familiarity with and competence in technology skills, and desire to keep learning.
