Full Job Description
Immaculate Heart High School and Middle School is seeking to immediately hire a responsible, detail- oriented maintenance/custodian to maintain and clean our facilities.
The ideal candidate will:
- be experienced in maintenance/custodian role focused on indoor and outdoor facility cleanliness and upkeep on a day-to day basis and on a rotational deep cleaning schedule
- demonstrate attention to detail
- arrive at work promptly with excellent attendance
- demonstrate willingness to be a team player
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performing minor building repairs such as broken locks, wall repair and touch up
- Troubleshooting and installing appliances, equipment, and systems
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Classroom cleaning : clean, dust, wipe furniture; sweep, mop, vacuum; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty recycle bins
- Maintaining hard surface floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets
- Washing interior and exterior windows, walls, blinds and equipment; using ladders when required
- Painting areas as necessary, including appropriate prep work
- Performing cleaning and related activities such as removing debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas adjacent to buildings using hand operated tools or small power equipment
- Moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis
- Replacing light bulbs, fluorescent lights, ballasts
- Assisting with the securing of buildings; reporting unauthorized persons on campus, turning off utilities.
- Other maintenance/custodial duties as assigned
Requirements
Physical requirements:
- have the physical ability to maneuver a multi-level campus with many stairs
- lift/carry up to 51 pounds without and/or with modification/assistance
- push and pull of carts and dollies throughout campus
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Prior maintenance/custodial experience
- Be able to communicate and understand spoken and written English
- Available to take any shift between 6am and 10pm Monday – Friday. Available weekends as needed.
- Successful applicants will be required to submit fingerprints to both California Department of Justice and FBI for criminal record summary
