POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the training in the ministry of consolation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church and, therefore, are expected to conduct themselves according to the mission and goals of the Church in performing their work.

  • Coordinates and facilitates the Ministry of Consolation Certification Program in in-person and virtual formats.
  • Maintains records for all participants in the program and manages tuition, attendance, written participation, certificates, and certification renewal.
  • Assists in the administration of additional workshops as needed.
  • Assists with planning and implementing CCM policies and guidelines for celebrating funeral and burial liturgies.
  • Procures sites and facilitators for the training programs and special events.
  • Prepares training program packets and arranges for environment and hospitality.
  • Prepares training program and extraordinary event publicity.
  • Responds to telephone inquiries and handles correspondence.
  • Assists supervisor in the administration of department budget as appropriate.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and continuing education in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience at the parish or diocesan level.

  • Managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Public relations and contact.
  • Communicate effectively in written and oral form in Spanish and English.
  • Work collaboratively with others.
  • Work on weekends and evenings when necessary.
  • Attend detailed work and have a highly developed ability to organize.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Occasionally lift to 20 pounds.
  • Sit for sustained periods daily.
  • Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, and arms.
