Job Overview:
Sanford Federal is looking for a Protestant Worship Director to play music and lead the worship service for the Sunday Protestant Service and Holy Days/special events.
Job Details:
- Job Title: Protestant Worship Leader
- Location: Fort McArthur base Chapel located l2400 S Pacific Ave, San Pedro, California 90731
- Type: Part-time. Twelve hours per month on average.
Requirements & Skills:
- Must have 1 year of experience in teaching the fundamentals of music to volunteers and have a grasp of the basics of vocals.
- Be an accomplished musician with a minimum of two consecutive years’ of experience in singing; able to sight-read music as required.
- Must be able to lead congregational singing.
- Minimum of two consecutive years’ experience in music ministry and leading music in a worship service.
- Must be capable of accompanying a soloist or choir.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Select and provide music, including song leading starting for the Sunday Services and Holy Day Services.
- Recruit and Train volunteers for the Choir.
- Lead the volunteer instrumental musician, choral musicians and conduct rehearsals.
- Be at the Chapel at least 30 minutes prior to beginning of service.
- Coordinate with instrumentalists and other lay worship leaders concerning the plans and needs of the weekly or special worship Service.
- Recruit, train, and assist all volunteers for the Protestant praise team, as well as lead in the worship service.
- Select and provide music for Holidays and Holy Days as needed.
- Ensure there is musical accompaniment at all Services and Holy Day/Special Events. This musical accompaniment shall be in the form of individual musicians, group musicians and/or a choir
