POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Coordinator is responsible to promote effective catechetical ministry to Parish Catechetical Leaders, in a specific pastoral region, through accompaniment, formation, consultation and resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
All Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church and they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.
• Engages in, and supports a collaborative culture within and beyond the office and is responsible for the procedures implemented in the ORE.
• Represents the Archdiocese and participates in national, regional and local organizations and events to further the goals and mission of the office.
• Stays current with leading catechetical trends and development as it pertains to the ministry and is knowledgeable in guiding Church documents.
• Prepares annually and is accountable for a division budget and a yearly ministry plan. At times handles financial transactions.
• Collaborates in the efforts of ORE in implementing events on a diocesan and regional scale (e.g. RECongress, regional congresses, commissioning, etc.).
• Promotes a positive working relationship with his/her administrative secretary as assigned. Supervises his/her administrative secretary in relationship to assigned tasks. Shares responsibility for general supervision and appraisal.
• Performs related duties as required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Meets, as a group, on a monthly basis with the Director of Religious Education for the Archdiocese.
• Acts as liaison between the Office of Religious Education and parishes in a Pastoral Region of the Archdiocese.
• Aids parishes in implementing the philosophy, policy and directives of the Archdiocese.
• Offers resources, in-services and consultations on all activities related to religious education at the parish level.
• Conducts formal parish visitations to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of parish religious education programs and offer suggestions and assistance.
• Convenes Directors, Coordinators, Catechetical Leaders and key parish personnel, on a monthly basis, to enhance their personal and professional growth.
• Provides days of enrichment and opportunities for retreats and days of recollection for parish catechetical leaders.
• Directs planning, implementation and supervision of the annual Regional Congress.
• Collaborates with the Coordinator for Catechist Formation in formation centers in the Region.
• Communicates, in consultation with parishes, needs for catechist formation to the Coordinator of Catechist Formation and assists with facilitating sites of formation centers and promoting them in the Region.
• Assists and supports the division coordinators in providing specializations to those in catechist formation.
• Acts as an advocate for all ministries.
• Engages in and supports a collaborative culture within and beyond the office and is responsible for the procedures implemented in the ORE.
• Represents the Archdiocese and participates in national, regional and local organizations and events to further the goals and mission of the office.
• Supports the work of other offices of the Archdiocesan Catholic Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, typically:
• Basic and Advanced Catechist Formation Certificate.
• Master’s degree in Religious Studies or similar field.
• 3 years’ experience in ministry with adults
• 3-5 years diocesan or 5-7 years of parish religious education leadership
• Program development experience.

Knowledge of:
• Program planning, development, and organization.
• Resource and budget management.
• Public speaking, group facilitation and teaching methodology.
• Professional use of social media and technology.
• The multi-cultural nature of ministry in the Archdiocese.
Skill in:
• Pastoral application of Church teaching.
• Communicate effectively in written and oral form.
• English and Spanish preferred.
• Use of current office software including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and databases.
Ability to:
• Exercise personal initiative while collaborating with a team.
• Utilize a collaborative leadership style to facilitate the development of leadership.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
• Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Sit for sustained periods of time on a daily basis.
• Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking.
• Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms
