Full Job Description
The Pastoral role at Grace Bible Church is a dynamic and influential position. This person works alongside the Youth Pastor in shepherding the congregation to strive for healthy spiritual growth, as well as reaching out to the community to share God’s love and grow God’s family.
Areas of focus will be small groups, teaching, preaching, discipleship, and ministries implementation and management.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Build relationships by loving people in the congregation and those in the community who do not know Christ
- Manage and lead other ministries such as: Weeknight Bible study, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Español, etc.
- Be responsible to provide a sermon weekly
Maintain and Grow Small Groups
- Recruit, train, support, and care for members, hosts, and community leaders
- Establish and roll out small group campaigns
Weekly Bible study and Sunday school
- Teach (Discipleship – Spiritual Growth), work with staff and manage volunteers
- Teach doctrinal principles from God’s word
Church Health and Leadership
- Provide leadership development
- Provide pastoral support to the congregation
- Recruit, develop, and lead volunteers for other various ministries
- Follow up on congregational members when necessary
Experience:
- Built healthy and growing small groups and ministries
- Helped develop community and spiritual growth within a congregation
- Engaged in the development of leaders in varied ministries
WHO YOU ARE:
- Highly interactive – Able to communicate with the community, immediate staff, and members the vision and purpose of Grace Bible Church
- Continual learner – Builds on the foundation that “leaders are learners” and continually looks to develop spiritual growth tools and steps as well as opportunities to learn through various projects and creating processes for involvement in the community and congregation for participants and leaders
- Discerning – Exhibit a high level of discernment for decision-making through thought and care, but also decisions that need to be made quickly
- Supervisor – Care for, lead, and oversee base volunteer leaders, and potentially interns, and coworkers
OTHER EXPERIENCES, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous Pastoral and Small Groups ministry experience desired
- Ability to teach and communicate the core truths of scripture
- A heart to serve the members of the church and surrounding community
- Strong leadership experience
- A flexible approach to changing priorities and duties
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience
- A Seminary degree is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
