The Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church Day School is a non-denominational, independent preschool on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
The Administrative Assistant provides direct administrative support to the school leadership team.
Responsibilities include:

  • General office duties including reception, phone and email coverage, appointment scheduling, data entry, document creation, filing, photocopying etc.
  • Create and maintain annual organizational documents
  • Collect annual school forms, including Department of Health requirements
  • Track student absences
  • Manage school merchandise orders
  • Prepare and maintain student and staff records
  • Coordinate school events including scheduling, set-up and arranging building support
  • Manage office and classroom supply orders
  • Assist teachers with beginning and end of year logistical needs
  • Serve as liason between school and Parent Committee co-chairs, providing office support as needed for various initiatives
  • Track tuition collection and donations
  • Assist with various special projects

Required Skills:
The ideal applicant is friendly, detail oriented, flexible, self-motivated and able to work collaboratively, has strong organizational and time management skills and excellent interpersonal, phone and writing skills.

Candidate must be proactive and demonstrate a genuine desire to anticipate and meet the needs of others in a warm, welcoming community. This role requires a discreet individual who naturally maintains confidentiality and is sensitive to parents’ needs.

Proficiency on Mac applications and Microsoft Office

Working knowledge of SchoolAdmin is helpful but not required. Prior independent school experience is a plus.
