St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church North Chesterfield, Virginia, United States St Edward The Confessor Catholic Church, a large and vibrant suburban congregation of 3,300 families in North Chesterfield, VA, is in search of an Associate Director of Music. We are seeking a talented, energetic, and faith-filled person who can recruit, coordinate, and collaborate with the Director of Music to continue the high caliber of sacred music in our liturgies. The position is full-time and salaried with benefits. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The position is available July 2021. Requirements Applicants should have prior experience as a church musician and possess consummate abilities in service playing on both organ and piano, choral and instrumental conducting, sight reading, cantoring, arranging music for vocal and instrumental ensembles, and facility with sound equipment. Strong administrative and collaborative skills are expected. A Graduate degree in Music is desirable. Responsibilities, which will be shared with the Director, include playing organ and piano for 10 liturgies per week and Special Services throughout the church year, 1-2 annual choral concerts, funerals and weddings (with an additional stipend), weekly rehearsals for 4 volunteer choirs and one handbell choir, arranging music for instrumental ensembles, extensive music planning, and ongoing collaboration with clergy and the parish staff.
