Remnant Westside is a church that exists to raise up a new generation liberated and empowered by the gospel, that will in turn radically impact their communities. Since October of 2003, Remnant Westside has sought to transform both individual lives and communities by testifying to the truths of the Bible while seeking after the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the power of prayer, glorification of God through worship, building up of spiritual communities and the call to be faithful witnesses to the world. Our church currently has college, young adult and families ministries that meet throughout New York City and northern New Jersey. We are a community of about 300 students and young professionals that meet in New York City’s Flatiron District.

Job Description
The Associate Pastor of Remnant Westside Church will execute the vision cast by the Board of Elders under the supervision of the Senior Pastor by focusing primarily on leading the pastoral staff through their day-to-day ministry responsibilities, ensuring all church ministries are aligned around the church’s vision and goals, and developing strategies to make an impact within the city of New York.

In this position, you will fulfill the Primary Responsibilities under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Pastor and work closely with the Board of Elders, and RWC’s Core Leadership Team, which includes church staff and lay ministry leaders. We envision the ideal candidate to be a strategic thinker who is highly collaborative in nature and promotes teamwork and unity within our leadership team and our body.

Primary Responsibilities

Ministry Oversight and Management
• Support the Senior Pastor in the accomplishment of the church’s mission through ministry effectiveness evaluation, discernment, decision making, planning and the overall direction of church staff
• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor in designing and upholding a ministry structure based off the church’s current goals and resources
• Work closely with the head of each ministry to make sure each ministry understands the vision of the church and how it directly impacts their ministry.
• Champion the development of systems and infrastructure for all leadership and ministry areas that support the healthy, long-term growth of the church

Leadership Development
• Train and develop all leadership teams towards an effective reach of the church’s overall mission through a leadership development pathway, produce necessary curriculum for trainings
• Lead the pastoral staff in the execution of their day-to-day ministry responsibilities
• Create and maintain a systematic approach (metrics/process etc) for the Elder Board to evaluate the overall spiritual health of the church
• Disciple leaders within the church

Evangelism and Community Partnerships
• Design and implement evangelism and discipleship initiatives under the vision of the Senior Pastor
• Craft a strategy for the church to make an impact within the city of New York
• Identify strategic opportunities for partnership with other local churches and community-based organizations in the advancement of the Gospel in New York City

General Pastoral
• Preach as necessary
• Provide pastoral care to congregants as needed
• Attend all RWC weekly meetings including Prayer Meeting and Leaders meetings

Qualifications
• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ that exhibits exemplary character
• Theological agreement with Remnant Westside’s Statement of Faith
• Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience with a focus on management and strategy development
• Minimum of 5 years of ministry leadership experience
• A proven track record of effective leadership and supervision of staff
• Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong sense of integrity and understanding of confidentiality
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s of Divinity strongly preferred. Master’s level management degree (MBA or MPA) is a plus.
