Overview:
To work with the Divisional Youth Secretary in all aspects of College and Young Adult Ministry. Flexibility and a cooperative spirit are crucial characteristics of the individual who holds this important position. The Salvation Army reserves the right to revise or change job duties and responsibilities as the need arises. It is expected that each employee will be familiar with The Salvation Army Handbook for Employees. Questions regarding its contents can be directed toward the Human Resource Department or Immediate Supervisor. This position is for two years and will be removed or discontinued

Responsibilities:
Establish fellowship opportunities for college age students within the division which should include service events and discipleship programs.
Maintain a current listing of Salvation Army students at campuses in Greater New York, as well as those from Greater New York attending colleges in other states and send communications to these students with the end goal of them being connected to GNY corps.
Identify individuals with potential for deeper cultivation for Army service.
Coordinate care package support for Salvation Army college students.
Conduct monthly Young Adult Club Nights aimed at College Students and Young Adults.
Develop an online Young Adult community by way of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Help Recruit for service opportunities and recruit camp staff by visiting various colleges and universities.
In conjunction with the DYS & DYCS, help plan and implement Youth Adult Retreat and other events at which college age and young adults will be present.
Be prepared to work nights/and or weekends, when scheduled, as part of the Youth Department’s normal program activity (Youth Councils, Bible Bowl, retreats, etc.) as per the direction of the DYCS.
Develop a strategy for Spring Missions trips for college students for service in and or out of the division.
During the summer months be a part of Leadership Role that leads to spiritual advancement or development of the staff.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Christian Education or a related field.
At least two (2) years of teaching experience or an equivalent amount of related practical experience
Strong personal Christian values and high moral character.
A valid driver’s license.
Able to work with people in a leadership role.
Good organizational skills.
Able to speak and carry himself/herself well in front of a group.
Able to work with all age groups, especially with teens and young adults.
Able to travel throughout the Division to work with Corps Officers and Local Officers on various programs.
Be an active Salvation Army Soldier (Preferred)
