The Connections Director is responsible for building a culture of hospitality at Church of the City New York by providing connections systems and pathways for all who enter our community. The Connections Director will directly shape hospitality related to Sunday Services and special events including, but not limited to, new guest/new believer welcome and follow up, baptisms, communion, and facilitating pathways for attendees to engage in our church. They will manage and lead the Connections volunteer team for Sunday and holiday services, while working with the Events Director to provide volunteers for COTC special events. This director will have the skill set to lead spiritually, as well as administratively, from idea to execution. This director will successfully integrate new people into groups, courses, events, and serving teams. This job requires a flexible 40+hr/week schedule Sunday - Thursday to accommodate Sunday gatherings and the obligations of seasonal projects.

Requirements

  • A Christian in submission to the authority of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit, as evident in lifestyle. Subscribes to and is in full agreement with the Church of the City’s Statement of Faith.
  • Be the entrance to invitation into community at COTC NY
  • Design, plan and execute on all Front of House, guests, and congregant facing aspects of Sunday gatherings, including signage and resources for Sundays and assigned events
  • Provide warm, hospitable environments and instill a culture of hospitality into staff and volunteers.
  • Recruit, build, and lead volunteers with a rotating 3 deep leadership bench for Sunday services and events.
  • Champion Power of Moments for key events in a believer’s life. (Including, but not limited to, 1st time guests, Baptisms, Baby dedications, Communion)
  • Identify all new attenders on Sundays and follow up within the week.
  • Oversee Independent Contractors as needed.
  • Make seasonal calendar agreements for the all staff calendar
  • Administration and project management, follow all assigned HR policies, and timelines and ensure your volunteers and contractors do the same.
  • Stay withing budget and spending guidelines.
