Position Title: Digital Organizer
Reports To: Organizing Coordinator, IRP+
Location: Remote
Team: Immigration and Refugee Program Team
Status: Full Time Exempt Non-Bargaining Unit

Primary Purpose:
CWS is looking for a creative and energetic digital organizer to join our team and help us deepen and build the support we offer to field operations, especially when it comes to managing online organizing and digital media with refugee community leaders. We are looking for someone who is an experienced digital campaigner who is laser-focused on maximum impact and efficient strategy - with a strong grasp of immigrants rights organizing and policy. An organizer who uses digital tools to direct field online strategy. Must be a strong writer and impactful storyteller to craft a compelling call to action. We are looking for someone who can direct our digital strategy for the grassroots organizing within our growing refugee community leadership project and use digital tools to amplify the prophetic voice of faith communities working in solidarity with refugees and immigrants..

The digital organizer will work with CWS Immigration and Refugee Program’s (IRP+) advocacy team and relevant partners to help develop and enact effective strategies and actions to mobilize refugee communities throughout the country.

Essential Duties:
Manage email and SMS lists for refugee leaders by writing content, overseeing production, and developing growth and acquisition strategies

Create and run A/B tests for emails, ads, and text messages as appropriate; analyze the performance of ads, emails, and text messages, and adjust content strategies accordingly, as well as when needed to respond to breaking news;

Collaborate with our communications, organizing, and policy teams to lead a strategy for digital campaigns and rapid response focused on refugees as the priority audience;

Partner with CWS communication staff at local refugee agencies to ensure local organizers are able to amplify the voice of refugee leaders through social and traditional media.

Edit online action pages (petition pages, call pages, etc.) using our online email platforms to communicate best to refugee communities;

Manage the organizing team on text tools of communication by developing scripts for text message follow-up to accompany our field programs, and use Hustle/Strive to contact hundreds of refugees per week by text message and follow up appropriately;

Tailor advocacy emails to refugee communities and send them via our online email tools;

Lead digital strategy to engage, register, educate and mobilize New American voters;

Develop script and content and take ownership of infographics and short videos and other effective tactics for social and online engagement of refugee leaders, including ads;

Support the development and execution, management, and success of digital fundraising strategy;

Support the digital work of our state community organizers in PA, MI, NC, OH, GA, and VA, as well as other partners

Assist with administrative tasks, such as grant reports, as needed.

Attend, present at, and provide resources at relevant meetings, trainings, regional and denomination wide conferences on immigrants’ and refugee rights

Design memes, infographics and other social media content targeted at refugee communities

Handle other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Experience:
Previous experience with leading online organizing, working with refugee and immigrant communities as well as with voter registration, voter education, Get Out the Vote, advocacy, and/or community organizing. Knowledge and experience in working with online tools such as Hustle, Strive, MobileCommons, Salesforce, Voter Activation Network database, excel, powerpoint and database software is essential. Strong organization, relationship building, writing, and verbal presentation skills are a must. Capacity to develop and manage digital organizing strategy as part of grassroots organizing team.

Comfort and familiarity with developing social media content for commonly used platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Whatsapp. Experience with digital ad creation and management, preferred. Must be a proactive self-starter, flexible with work schedule and able to multitask.
