About the Position
The ideal candidate for the position of Grade Dean will be an excellent classroom teacher and highly experienced in student support, academic advising, and counseling, working closely with students, parents/guardians, and faculty in the daily transactions of school life. The grade dean will support students’ wellbeing and their social, emotional, and intellectual growth from 9th grade through to graduation. The dean will be responsible for oversight of each student’s overall academic program, including their lab studies courses and co-curricular activities. The grade dean will work closely throughout with the division head and assistant division head, as well as the dedicated team of grade level advisors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required
Maintaining clear community norms and values, along with promoting ethical conduct, academic honesty, and appropriate behavior will be a critical part of the dean’s job. The dean must strive to create a healthy community for students of all identities and backgrounds. The ability to comfortably communicate with and thoughtfully advise adolescents, underscored by a practical understanding of adolescent development and how to work effectively to create strong relationships with families, is essential. Strong communication skills, both in writing and public speaking are required

Compensation
This is a full-time, 10-month position with an expected base salary of $67,000 - $149,080, commensurate with education and experience on the faculty salary scale. Deans are eligible for an additional payment equivalent to 7 steps on the faculty salary scale.
