Position Description:
Under supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Administrative Assistant (“HRAA”) will support the efforts of the Human Resource Department (“HR”) as it relates to the mission and vision of The Riverside Church. The HRAA is responsible for supporting the HR department in building and maintaining an HR function that is progressive, strategic, customer service focused, and works with administrative excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Answers and directs departmental phone calls and HR inbox requests
Receives and distributes office mail
Schedules and organizes appointments/meetings
Takes minutes during department meetings
Distributes documents and correspondence on behalf of the HR department.
Assists with maintaining HRIS, including but not limited to ADP Workforce Now, DocuSign, JazzHR, Box, etc.
Assists in the recruitment process (excluding managerial levels and above) including posting, pre-screening potential candidates, candidate correspondence, scheduling of interviews, reference checks, generating hire and rejection letters.
Assists the HR Generalist with the onboarding process.
Works collaboratively with program staff.
Participates in benefits administration including claims resolution, change reporting, and generating payment authorizations
Handles and responds to staff inquiries for HR review.
Ensures timely and accurate preparation of invoices as assigned by the HR Director
Manages day-to-day accurate maintenance of human resources records, benefits enrollment, applications, and claims records for all benefit plans,
Compile reports from the database as needed.
Responsible for organizing and maintaining personnel files, both onsite and electronic records
Ensures timely responses to all inquiries.
Participates in administrative staff meetings as assigned.
Performs other related duties as required, assigned, but not limited to this description.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to operate general office equipment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or similar software
Ability to maintain strict adherence to confidentiality
Excellent time management skills
Ability to prioritize work effectively
Quick learner with a great attention to accuracy
Eager to build strong working relationships with all levels of employees
Team player capable of handling diverse duties,
Strong computer skills and knowledge of HRIS required; ADP strongly preferred

Education & Training:
Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Non-Profit management, or related field preferred or equivalent
Basic knowledge of HR employment related laws and practices preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
Experience with ADP Workforce Now, DocuSign, Jazz HR, or similar HRIS and applicant tracking systems preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds at times.
