Job Description:
The Children’s Minister at Lower Manhattan Community Church will provide dynamic and creative leadership for the children’s ministry at LMCC for infants through 5th grade and support and care for their families. The Children’s minister serves in collaboration with our families ministers and in partnership with families to help children discover who Jesus is and His love for them. They will build relationships with families, modeling Christ’s love and understanding and will build on the current foundations of LMCC’s children’s ministry to enable the ministry to become even more effective for the youngest of our church family.
An ideal candidate is passionate and experienced in child development and/or education and excited to empower others to serve in this important work. They will have a deep desire for children to truly know the love of Christ, to see them gain knowledge and understanding of scripture and to help them to establish the foundation for a lifetime of discipleship.
The Children’s Minister will have a heart that longs to see Christ’s Kingdom be established in New York City. Under the leadership and partnership of the Team of Pastors, the Children’s Minister will serve, teach, encourage and care for the families of Lower Manhattan and beyond.
This is part-time position: 20hrs pw
Qualifications:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree
- M.A. in Children’s Ministry and/or an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education or related subjects preferred
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in education or children’s ministry
- Must be located in NYC and available to work a part-time , flexible schedule allowing for in-person events and Sunday services
- Must be energetic and passionate about children’s ministry
