Position Title: Office Coordinator – Part Time

Organization Description

St. Michael’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant, inclusive, welcoming community on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, with an active calendar of worship, family ministry, music, and outreach throughout the week. Our facility provides space for many organizations, with numerous programs for children, social services, and the arts.

St Michael’s seeks to hire a part-time Office Coordinator to provide in-person presence, serving St. Michael’s parishioners and the broader neighborhood in its welcoming mission. As part of our administrative team, the Coordinator will receive and direct inquiries, keep financial records, and maintain the facility calendar.

The position reports tothe Director of Administration & Finance, and will be expected to assist the Rector, other staff, and church committees as requested.

Accurate, detailed record keeping and the ability to manage multiple projects
Reliable, self-motivated, demonstrating initiative and follow-through
Strong communication skills, in person, by phone, in writing and through social media platforms
Ability to effectively communicate to our diverse population
Appreciation of and strict adherence to confidentiality
Proficiency in Google and Microsoft suite of products
Preferred

Working knowledge of ACS Technologies
Experience working in a church environment
Basic bookkeeping skills
Spanish language skills
PREFERRED HOURS: 25 hours, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility will be considered.

Pay is hourly and based on qualifications and experience.

Work and Physical Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

This is partially a sedentary role. Some responsibilities will require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. The role requires navigating the Church’s three-floor environment, including going up and down stairs.
