Job Description:
Teaching & Preaching
- Serve as the majority communicator in the weekly Sunday church service; approximately 2-3 Sundays per month
- Craft sermons, co-create sermon series and spiritual studies that shape the spiritual direction of the church community.
- Develop a team of preachers (internal and external) who can serve the church and provide diverse voices to the congregation.
- Equip, empower, and work closely with the Director of Worship Arts to plan, design, and produce weekly worship services.
Communications
- Coordinate with staff, board, and key volunteers to create compelling and timely content for and manage Life Church’s online presence and social media outlets which include Life Church Lancaster website, weekly emails, Facebook, and Instagram
- Design and implement effective communication strategies to keep Life Church attenders informed and engaged in the organization
- Manage the updating of existing brochures and other print, online and graphic materials as needed
- Manage the organization’s website
- Building upon the existing stewardship programs to create a robust and sustaining group of donors who financially support the church
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite required
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Planning Center Online, MailChimp, and/or HTML, preferred
Leadership, Direction & Vision
- Co-Provide overarching spiritual & organizational leadership to the staff & congregation.
- Co-Develop direction, themes, and focus of the church.
- Co-Discern the spiritual and organizational health of the church and leading the church into health & ministry impact.
- Co-Prepare and manage church budget, make decisions regarding facilities and use of church resources with input and partnership of the staff team and key volunteers
- Co-Serve as a rotating member on the Board of Directors.
- Co-Lead weekly Staff team meetings and other staff training events.
Pastoral & Shepherding Congregation
- Offer pastoral support to individuals in the congregation during times of need.
- Provide encouragement and wise council to congregation members as needed.
- Administer the sacraments of baptism & communion.
- Perform weddings & funerals as needed.
- Creates a feeling of belonging and positive morale, fosters open dialog & collaboration among leaders, and personally invests in the staff team.
