Responsibilities :
- Plan and conduct the church worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies and training / discipleship
- Prepare and deliver Biblical and evangelistic sermons
- Lead in observance of ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
- Work with church leadership to develop a plan and course of action that reaches out into the community
- Lead the church in effective programs of discipleship and witnessing to the lost
- Visit members, prospects, sick, and the shut in
- Moderate business meetings
- Offer needed counselling services and officiate at weddings, baby dedications, and funerals
- Lead in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the total church program so as to meet needs of all age groups in the church
- Work with deacons, church officers, and committees as Ex officio member of all committees
- Develop a Deacon Board and train and lead them in serving the church
- Cooperate with neighboring churches, associational, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern
- Help church members realize their spiritual gifts
- Support missions-foreign and local
- Work with the Finance Committee to revise and prepare the annual church budget that reflects the priorities of the congregation and the vision of the church
- Oversee filling of the pulpit on any Sunday he is not present, In consultation with the Deacons
- Serve as chief administrator of the church volunteers and staff
Work Hours :
- 15-20 Hours per week
- The Pastor will be expected to attend all agreed on church functions and will be expected to keep regular posted office hours, as well as additional hours by appointment, if needed.
Exceptions are made in the case of extreme emergencies.
- The Pastor will not be absent from church events or regular office hours, without notifying the designated church leadership at least twenty-four hours beforehand, except in the case of an extreme emergency.
