St. Francis Xavier School in the Morris Park section of the Bronx is seeking a per-diem Physical Education teacher to join our dynamic faculty. We seek an enthusiastic, creative, knowledgeable individual who understands and can provide a learner-centered experience for our students.. The individual must be able to work on Mondays and Fridays. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, as well as experience working with children.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field required
Solid background in sports and communication a definitely plus
Successful coaching experience
Practicing Catholic preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Commitment to the mission, vision and core values of Francis Xavier School
Knowledge and application of best practices for instructional and assessment strategies
Knowledge and application of instructional technology including Zoom, SeeSaw and/or Google Classroom, document camera, interactive whiteboard and iPad instructional apps
Ability to collaborate with colleagues as part of a professional learning community
Ability to establish and maintain positive partnerships with parent community
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
Knowledge of sports and basic health and nutrition for all developmental levels
Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position, which include:
Leading multiple classes and activities throughout the school day
Working indoors and outdoors to teach students how to play various sports and how to exercise.
Closely monitoring activities of students at all times.
Organizing activities and curriculum
Preparation and maintenance of gym equipment
