Summary:

This position provides direct supervision to case managers to provide time-limited case management to asylum seekers who have recently arrived in New York City. Provides effective provision of case management services, including advocacy, information and referral, and crisis intervention services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of case management program including tracking, reports, outreach, and staff supervision.
  • Provides training and supervision to staff; helps to determine the urgency of cases and make recommendations regarding what action should be taken.
  • Reviews and approves financial relief requests for clients.
  • Meets individually with each Case manager at least weekly and provides technical support and mentoring.
  • Provides direct services to clients on complex cases and as otherwise needed.
  • Assures that comprehensive case files, records, and other documents are maintained in all case records and ECM database.
  • Conduct (at least) weekly Quality Assurance reviews in ECM to ensure services are being properly delivered.
  • Keeps updated information on community resources available to clients.
  • Attends inter-office and outside agency meetings as appropriate.
  • Completes all required statistical and fiscal reports timely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work. Graduate degree in related field will be considered with related Case Management experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including ability to be flexible in dealing with multiple constituencies
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of New York City and State Social Service delivery systems
  • Good organizational, time-management and communication skills.
  • Previous Case Management related experience a plus.

COVID-19 Adjustment: Position will be onboarded virtually. Potential to orient to the physical office space in person depending on CDC and agency requirements at the time of onboarding. Updates to protocol are implemented on a regular basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
