Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial firm located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
The Senior Vice President Church Relations Officer represents the Church Pension Group at events and conferences across the Episcopal Church and works with the Chief Church Relations Officer in establishing healthy, mutually beneficial relationships between CPG and the Episcopal Church. The CRO advises the CCRO, CEO and Executive Leadership Team on church related matters to ensure continued success with CPG’s clients, church leadership, and institutions of the Episcopal Church. The CRO is also responsible for gathering, tracking, and monitoring information to assist with the ongoing work related to both the General Convention and individual Diocesan Conventions.
The successful candidate will be an ordained Episcopal Priest with at least 10 years of post seminary experience with increasing responsibility in cathedral, parish, seminary, or diocesan leadership positions; or equivalent experience and seniority in related secular employment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the polity of the Episcopal Church, its institutions, staffing, governance, and their relationships to one another. They will have advanced presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to engender confidence and credibility with diverse constituents. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. A Master of Divinity is required.
Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Commuting to the office, on average, three days a week, when not traveling for work. Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Approximately 50 to 60 % travel required for this position
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid (Two days working from home, three days working in a standard office environment when not traveling. Travel conditions may vary). Salary Range: $260,000 - $325,000
