Youth Pastor

Church of the City New YorkNew York, NY, USA

Student ministry in New York City is unique and challenging. Educational pressure, secularization, and the cross pressures of urban life conspire against students to find and live in the way of Jesus. As a result, very few churches in the city have been able to figure out how to do student ministry in a sustainable way that captures the imagination of students in New York. Our church has a vision to CHANGE THIS and build something that redefines youth discipleship in our time. This Youth Pastor would be the overall ministry leader and pastoral figure for the Church of the City (COTC) Youth. A true understanding of different types of students such as private, public, charter, and homeschooled youth is a definite need in the NYC setting. A youth pastor with a vision to shape and impact discipleship and formation for a generation of students raised in the midst of a secular culture. We are looking for someone willing to pour themselves out to break the status quo and build a movement of youth discipleship. We are looking for a visionary dreamer, yet with a bias towards action and a pragmatic bent. We are looking to set the bar high, and will match this with a commitment and care from our church and staff that will help to make this vision possible.
