Position Summary

The purpose of the Worship and Creative Arts Department is to support the mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) by being responsible for all matters dealing with the weekend worship services. The purpose of the Worship Pastor (student emphasis) position is to support the mission of Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) by providing excellence and leadership through the accountability, pastoral support, and oversight of student worship leaders in their specific area. This position reports to the Lead Student Worship Pastor for accountability of execution and vision.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, execute and maintain a strategy, alongside of Lead Student Worship Pastor to facilitate ongoing musical, professional, and spiritual growth for worship leaders in select area.
  • Will serve as the direct report of student worship leaders in area.
  • Establish consistency in meeting with student worship leaders in area.
  • Will take point in scheduling of student worship leaders in region – this will be done alongside of the Lead Student Worship Pastor as requested
  • Meet with musicians, vocalists, and worship leaders regularly to develop further spiritual maturity within team
  • Meet with Youth Pastors in region with regularity
  • Execute responsibilities as the Youth Worship Leader at designated campus
  • Provide support in planning services, picking songs, and developing creative elements as requested by Lead Student Worship Pastor
  • Assist in the planning of Worship Leader trainings and retreats – proactive in further development of student worship leaders in region
  • Attend Worship Leader meetings and Individual 1:1 meeting with Lead Student Worship Pastor and Regional Worship Pastor as requested
  • Be attentive and present on the specific campus they are assigned. Being available to campus minimum of 1 day a week
  • Prepare and communicate vision specifically as it pertains to student worship leaders in region.
  • Serve as a contributor for CCV recording projects as scheduled
  • Review the previous weekend services at each campus w/in region; provide feedback to worship leaders in regard to vocal performance, stage presence and worship leading
  • Serve as a contributor at sermon series brainstorming meetings as scheduled
  • Provide additional Ableton support to student worship leaders
  • Attend scheduled meetings with and contribute relationally to the Worship and Creative Arts Team
  • Lead the worship sets on select weekends in adults or students (as scheduled)
  • Prepare for weekend leading (personally)

Schedule

  • Weekly schedule expectations will be:
    • Monday: Available 9:00am – 4:00pm; 5:45pm – 7:30pm (At campus assigned when applicable)
    • Tuesday: In office 9:00am – 4:00pm
    • Wednesday: In office 9:00am – 4:00pm
    • Thursday: Flex Day 9:00am – 1:00pm
    • Saturday: At campus assigned 1:00pm – 7:00pm *
    • Sunday: At campus assigned 7:00am – 1:00pm *
    • * Availability for weekend scheduling = 42-44 weekends/year (20 adult/20 students/4 observation)
    • NOTE: during events such as Christmas, Easter, recording sessions, etc. weekly schedule will include additional hours as required

Minimum Qualifications

Character & Chemistry

  • A passion for reaching the lost
  • Personal integrity in all areas of life
  • Must be – or willing to become – a participating member of CCV
  • Regularly attends worship services with their family
  • Is an active participant in a neighborhood group, a transformation group and is a regular tither

  • Interpersonal Skills – relates well to all kinds of people and builds effective relationships, communicates effectively both interpersonally and corporately.

Education & Experience

  • Experience in ministry is highly desired
  • Experience recruiting, training and leading Children’s Ministry music volunteers
